His daughter, "Little Lucy" must sail to Chicago to sell the lumber and save their land. "Deceitful" Deacon Detroit is after Lucy's land while "Manly" Manfred Manistee is after Lucy's hand.

I just found out that I'm coming up there for Thanksgiving... I'll be chillin at the Holiday Inn. lol. I'm excited though! If there is anything good going on that weekend, or any of you want to meet up let me know!

And thanks for adding Chef John's to the interests, I seriously still am craving it though.

09:40 pm - Two For The Road
Well, as I said I would, I went to Ludington last weekend. It was just as I expected it to be, and yep, the lake is still there. I just had to go to see it for myself. Har Har. That was a dumb joke.

So I did all the touristy things. :P I did, however, walk around downtown and I walked past the Body Gallery. I'm sure it's very cool. I didn't get a chance to stop in though. For some reason, a coffee shop and tattoo parlor just sounds like an interesting place. If I needed another tattoo, I so would've gotten one right there.

I thoroughly enjoyed my Hokey Pokey from the House of Flavors.

It was the first time I'd been without my parents, and it was very weird to be there without my family. I'm also a "fudgie" as a kid in one of my classes last semester who is from Ludington said, so it was also weird for me to be there in the fall.

On a completely unrelated topic, I was searching eBay today, and I came across a Zippo lighter with the Badger on it. The funny thing is the item description. "UP FOR AUCTION THIS WEEK IS A ZIPPO LIGHTER THAT HAS THE S.S. BADGER DESTROYER ON IT. NEW IN BOX." Destroyer??? Right.

09:18 pm - I hope this is ok.
I joined this community because I love Ludington. I'm what you'd call a "fudgie," but I'll accept that. I'm from Linden, which is near Flint. Going up there is a family tradition, and it started like 40-ish years ago when my grandparents first went camping there with my dad. Just let me know if you want me to leave and I will.

Hi everyone! My name's Liz and I live in Bloomfield Hills, which is about half an hour away (northwest, i think?) from Detroit. My grandpa grew up in Ludington, and now he has property on Lake Michigan, in Pentwater. I've been spending the summer there ever since I was born, and it feels more like my home up there than it does down here.

Hi everybody! I'm Katie and I'm from Ludington... so that's that. :o)

Anyway, I have two kittens that are are about 2 months old that need a home. They're both little girls and are very adorable. One is all black except for a little bit of white on her tummy. The other is really dark, almost black, but you can see stripes through her, it's kind of hard to explain. So I was wondering if anybody is interested in either of them. I'm in Grand Rapids now, but will be visiting Ludington next week (June 30-July 4 or 5) so if you wanted one I could bring you one then. Also I'm thinking about finding their mom a new home, I love her to death, she's a great cat, but I want to move into a place where I'm not allowed cats so I figured I'd get her a new home. She's 2 years old and is a tan, white, and gray tabby (stripped) cat. And if you'd like her you can let me know also.

Or if you know anybody who would be interested talk to them! Thanks a bunch.

Hey my name is Beth. I am 19 years old and live in Sterling Hts (a bit north of Detroit). I have a ton of family in Ludignton and I pretty much consider it my second home. I visit several times each year, and love that place. You might know my Uncle, he's Chef John at Chef John's European Bakery and Cafe. My aunt is one of the librarians at the good ol' library, and my other aunt runs the gift shop on the Badger. I've never really become friends with anyone I've met up there, so I thought this would be a great way to start.

Hope you're all having some warm weather up there!

It's awesomne that you started a community!
